50 years of PSI - How it all began
It all started with a handful of wallpapering tables set up in Bad Soden. Like many other important decisions in his life, Walter G. Jung made the decision to set up the Präsent Service Institut on his birthday. The idea to set up a network for the promotional product sector was therefore born on 1 August 1960; the intention was to create a functioning market out of the patchwork of suppliers and distributors. PSI membership would yield competitive advantages to all those taking part. Fifty years later the PSI is still based on the principle of "members only".
And to this day, his idea has lost nothing of its appeal: almost 900 exhibitors and roughly 19,000 trade visitors now meet once a year at the PSI Exhibition in Düsseldorf, the largest promotional products exhibition in Europe. Reason enough to celebrate the 50th anniversary together with all members in 2010.
